Tamzin News:

Tamzin Outhwaite considers Hollywood move

LONDON: Tamzin Outhwaite says she is considering a film career and finds the idea of leaving her London home for Hollywood "very attractive".

The 32-year-old TV soap star said she would love to star in a British film, describing the industry on this side of the Atlantic as "brilliant".

It's a long way from EastEnders, which made Outhwaite a household name playing Mel.

Since leaving the series early last year she has shaken off the character, getting rave reviews for her roles in the BBC's feature film Out of Control, and Army drama, Red Cap.

She has recently been made the new face of Avon Colour and is also filming a two part drama called Final Demand.

Speaking to the Mail on Sunday's Night and Day magazine, she described meetings with Hollywood agents.

"The idea of Hollywood is very attractive but you have to have the nerve. You've got to say no to everything in London first."

She said starring in a British film "would be wonderful.

"But it's finding the right thing, being what they want," she added.

Tamzin Outhwaite to take TV break

Tamzin Outhwaite is to take a three-month break from TV for fear of suffering a burn-out.

The former EastEnders star had just two weeks off last year after a hectic schedule filming Red Cap for BBC1.

But she says she hasn't ruled out the possibility of returning to EastEnders.

She told the Daily Express: "With one thing and another, last year I only managed to have two or three weeks off and I've been working flat out the rest of the time.

"Obviously I've been lucky to have been working as hard as I have been but I've also found it really tiring and I don't want to end up being burnt-out.

She added: "When it comes to EastEnders I never say never. It's not the right thing for me to do at the moment but I wouldn't rule out seeing Mel return to Albert Square at some point."

Tamzin Outhwaite signs up as new Avon lady

Tamzin Outhwaite has signed a £250,000 contract to be the new face of Avon.

She will appear on posters and TV commercials as an Avon lady, knocking on doors.

The former EastEnders actress shoots the publicity shots in the New Year.

She told the Sunday Mirror: "I'm happy the cat's out of the bag. But you'll have to wait until next year to catch me in action. And I might be knocking on a door near you."

Tamzin dyes her hair for the Baftas.

Tamzin says her mother used to be an Avon lady when she was growing up, and plans to knock on a few doors herself.

She told Sky News: "The idea of surprising someone really interests me.

"Just turning up and seeing what happens, or going to an Avon party - I'd be up for it."
